Winter coats season is well and truly here and I couldn’t be happier about it…

I have to say I prefer the colder month’s wardrobe to that of sunnier climes. I’ll take a teddy coat, paired with biker boots and a baker boy hat over a bikini any day. I prefer being wrapped up, layer upon layer, and slightly nippy, than sweating my mammaries off in a mini dress in 30 degree heat. Coats in particular are my weakness and with a casual 15 of them taking up residence in my wardrobe this season, I have one for every attire and occasion.

If I am to invest in one item for Winter, it’s always a coat and if you buy a classic style, it will stand the test of time and be well worth the investment. My navy Ganni tailored coat was £450 but 3 years later has been worn hundreds of times, is still going strong and is still my most complimented coat. You don’t have to remortgage your house to find a good quality coat though. ASOS has some amazingly affordable but luxe-looking coats as does New Look and Zara.

Whatever your coat style may be, I’ve included everything from trench coats, to car coats, evening coats and lighter weather coats, rounding up my favourites for the colder months ahead…

You can’t go wrong with a classic tailored coat, it stands the test of time, goes with everything and instantly dresses up a simple, understated outfit. For a cosier alternative, a teddy coat is the fashion packs choice, is the perfect mix of chic yet comfortable and keeps you warm in the most Arctic temperatures.

A good nude trench is totally timeless. I love pairing mine with studded biker boots and ripped jeans or over a jumper dress. They’re great for the warmer months too.

Dress up a plainer outfit with a patterned coat. I love the Next one here (to the left) which looks expensive, has a great zip detail on the pockets and  a structured, tailored fit.

Animal print is going no where in the fashion world, and if I’m not sporting a leopard print dress or a zebra striped skirt then I’m cosying up in my fauz fur coat instead. This Stand one is such a great price for the quality of it, whilst this bargain ASOS one is a great replica
